Purchases at Stitches and Craft

So what did I buy yesterday. Not a lot but I'm happy with my purchases.

First up some fabric from Amite.



Then this lovely collage from here. I think this will become a gift for a friend.



An adorable apple pincushion.



Kits for little purses. I have visions of making some as presents for Xmas. I'm not saying what year though.

When worlds collide

Visited the Stitches and Craft show today. I have only been twice in about 15 years and had vowed never to go again. However they have revamped things a bit so I thought I might as well take a look.

The ground floor was what I remembered. Things started to get better on the second floor as one of my favourite shops had a stand here. Third floor was what I had really gone for. They call it the Incubator and it has lots of small areas with new talent showing their stuff. Lots of intereting things to see here.

So why is this post called when worlds collide. I ran into someone I know from work. I'm a city girl and she's from the country but our paths crossed last year when I performed the wedding ceremony for a mutual friend. No talk of quilting so no connections made. Turns out she's Chookyblue. It was quiet a surreal moment. I did remember our paths had crossed once before at a quilt show. She joined us while I had coffee with mutual friends. Told you Chookyblue. Here's the proof.

Design Wall Monday

The weekend here in Sydney was absolutely glorious. It is supposed to be winter and we had temperatures in the high 20's. I'm not complaining as I detest winter. The upshot was like most of Sydney I spent my time on the weekend outdoors. Who can resist beautiful warm days.

As a consequence only a little more progress made on Thomas from last week. I think I am over thinking it and less will be more. A finished top next Monday.

I did dig out my Double Delight block and have made a tiny bit of progress.

The Stash

My name is Brenda and I have a problem. I buy fabric just because I can and don't use much. I'd like to say I've reformed however I just found a hard to get Anna Griffin Flora fabric and have ordered 5 yards. The totals below are for a month as I have been somewhat slack.

A little sewing has been done - here is my latest tessellation block.

Design Wall Monday

I am hoping that by posting this I will be motivated to get this little quilt finished. One of the girl's at work nephew has leukemia and loves Thomas. I have this lovely panel and am just going to add some simple piecing to make it a little bigger. Levi is only 2 1/2. Breaks my heart that a little one has to suffer so much.

Parcels in the mail

Aneela asked for pictures of parcels in the post that made us happy. I received this parcel yesterday that I had bought from Sarah and it certainly made me happy.
