Ripple Rug and stash

I have been dabbling in crochet for the last six months. I fell in love with all the ripple blankets I was seeing on blogs. After several failed attempts I think I know where I am heading. For some reason I need it to be bright -- not usually me - but it finally feels right.

Stash report for this week

Fabric used this week 0 yards

Fabric Used this year 24 1/4 yards

Fabric purchased this week 9 3/4 yards

Fabric purchased this year 52 1/2 yards

Net reduction + 28 1/4 yards

Imagine what it would be like if I wasn't trying!

I love the crochet ripple blankets too, but chose to do a hexagon blanket first. I'm loving it, but tend to crochet too quickly and my wrists ache afterwards. I have to remind myself to slow down and enjoy the fun of working with lovely colours and cuddly wool.

I dented my stashbusting record yesterday, but a lot of it was to pad out scraps for the bushfire quilts, so I am unrepentant. Once I manage to load it all onto the wagon I'll get back on it myself.

Our stash busting efforts seem to be neck and neck. I think recording our usage and purchases shows us exactly where it's going and makes us more aware of what we are doing.
