Ripple crochet and the stash

Not much sewing going on here at the moment. I am working 10 to 12 hour days and when I get home at night I'm exhausted. Crochet has proved to be the answer at the end of the day. It requires no thought and grows quickly.

I have however nipped in the bud (I hope) the start of another collection - this time of wool. I have one of those grocery bags to store wool in and publicly declare my stash will always fit in it. That's the plan for now anyway.

To the stash:-

Fabric used this week 1/2 yard

Fabric Used this year 36 1/4 yards

Fabric purchased this week 12 1/4 yards

Fabric purchased this year 188 yards

Net reduction + 151 3/4 yards

Some more ripple crochet and my weight

Anyone who knows me will attest I have the attention span of a gnat when it comes to finishing things.I am forever getting caught up in the thrill of starting something new and put aside the old with barely a glance. I do usually go back but it can be weeks, months or years.

Having been bitten by the crochet bug I had to sign up for this with Sarah. The first rug pattern was for another variation of a ripple and I had to try - didn't I. I'm loving the softer undulations with this one. I am also trying to be a bit different with colour choices. All the old blankets I have fallen in love with have sometimes quite weird colour combinations. My natural tendency is to have things match so I'm trying hard to be braver in my choices.

Unfortunately the photo is not great when it comes to the actual colours I have used.

Check in day and another gain of 700 grams. Easy for me to know why. Too much eating out and no days at the gym. This week started better with a session this morning with my personal trainer. I can already fell my muscles aching. Aim is to make the gym 6 days this week.

Weird thing for today. I had to move a 20 kilo weight off a machine I was going to use. Oh my it weighed a lot. Daniel then pointed out I had already lost that much weight. Something to use to motivate me I think.

Ripple Rug and stash

I have been dabbling in crochet for the last six months. I fell in love with all the ripple blankets I was seeing on blogs. After several failed attempts I think I know where I am heading. For some reason I need it to be bright -- not usually me - but it finally feels right.

Stash report for this week

Fabric used this week 0 yards

Fabric Used this year 24 1/4 yards

Fabric purchased this week 9 3/4 yards

Fabric purchased this year 52 1/2 yards

Net reduction + 28 1/4 yards

Imagine what it would be like if I wasn't trying!
