Some shopping and Days 82 & 83

While I haven't managed much sewing whilst on holidays I have been shopping.

Some new Kaffe stripes

and just because I can some Xmas fabrics.

Yesterday was 40 minutes of weights in the gym. I was supposed to have a session with Tamera but she has done something to her knee. Not the right time for her as she is getting ready to compete again for her title.

It was also measuring day and they were all over the place. Overall a gain of .5cm but I am not concerned as lots of factors can impact.

This morning I hit the gym feeling good. The treadmill sorted me out as my heartrate was all over the place. There is no rhyme or reason to what my body is doing these days. Did manage 5.70kms in an hour.

Days 77 to 81

Day 77. 11 weeks, I'm quietly proud of my achievement to date. It hasn't always been easy but as soon as I start to talk myself out of going another part of me counteracts and says of course you are going. I can see 100 days on the horizon now.

Today was a 40 minutes weight session and 30 minutes n the treadmill for 2.77kms. I really want to push myself this week. I know things are going to get a lot harder as it gets colder. I hate the cold weather and a heater is always such an appealing thought.

Dinner tonight was a celebration of Laurie and my relationship. We started going out 19 years ago. To celebrate we had dinner with friends at The Red lantern. Food, wine and company were all superb. Lighting was not good for taking photos unfortunately.

Tuesday morning and back in the gym on the treadmill for 45 minutes to travel 4.23kms.

Wednesday was a heavy day in the gym 40 minutes of weights followed by 30 minutes on the treadmill to cover 2.76kms.

I think I'm hitting a bit of a plateau. rResults are staying stagnant. Only a matter of time until things start to get better and I need to remember they will.

Thursday bright and early into the gym. My favourite treadmill was empty so 45 minutes for 4.25kms.

Woke up Friday morning and had lost my voice. Thought gym would be horrendous but not so. 4.33kms in 45 minutes.

Days 71 to 76

Tuesday was my fortnightly weigh in day and I have lost another kilo. I'm happy with that number as I believe that slow consistent weight loss is the way to go. Hit the treadmill for an hour on my favourite slow machine and travelled 5.68kms.

Wednesday was the start of the Sydney Quilt Show so a quick 1/2 hour weights session before hitting the show. I have to say not the best show ever and I didn't take a single photo.

Thursday in the gym late in the afternoon before a lovely dinner out with friends. Again my favourite machine but I upped the program level 1. Fairly challenging and 2.86kms in half an hour.

Lunchtime Friday was spent with Tamera and I love my sessions. Something new is always incorporated and she has me doing things I would not have thought possible.

Saturday morning another quick 30 minutes on the treadmill for 2.16kms.

Today into the gym after lunch. A lesson learned as I had a couple of drinks with lunch and won't be doing that again. 45 minutes and 4.18kms.

I have another week off work and will be hitting the gym hard. I also hope to get some sewing done so watch this space.

Using the stash and days 67 to 70

Here's a catch up on the stash report for the last few weeks. As you can see still not a lot of sewing going on.

Week 24

Fabric used 1 1/4metres
Fabric used to date 13 3/4metres

Goal for 2010 Use 100 metres

Head on over to Judy's to see how others are doing.

Day 67 was my weekly session with Tamera. Hard as usual but a little bit out of the ordinary as my right knee cap popped out. Tamera was able to get it back in place quickly and the pain was not so bad. That would have been enough for me but she's a tough cookie and rightly pointed out there was nothing wrong with my upper body so we should get going! No excuses here right.

Day 68 was measuring day and down on the three measurements I take by 2.5 cm. Would have been better if my waist hadn't decided to grow. My body is still doing all sorts of weird things so as long as overall I'm heading in a downhill direction I'm happy. Hit the gym and 45 minutes on the treadmill for 4.13km in 45 minutes. The knee didn't bother me too much.

Yesterday back in the gym and again 45 minutes on the treadmill. A slight improvement on the day before - 4.17kms in 45 minutes.

Today is day 70. Who would have thought I would have made it this far. A 40 minutes weight session on what is a holiday Monday for us.

One of the strange things happening is that people in the gym are now talking to me. I am quite happy to be invisible - hard I know when I am this size- but this time around it is like I have a beacon over my head saying talk to me. Don't get me wrong everyone is saying nice things but when I'm sweating I just don't see it as the time for small talk.

Days 62 to 65

Sunday was an early morning start in the gym as we had to drive to Newcastle for lunch. For my overseas readers it's just over a 2 hour drive. All the planets were in alignment and on my favourite treadmill I completed the preset program whilst staying within my heart rate limits. Distance travelled 2.85kms in 30 minutes.

Monday afternoon into the gym and I had to use one of the newer machines. My theory that the speed on the old one was out was proved correct. I nearly died and had to reduce the speed to cope. Oh well. 2.68kms in 30 minutes.

Into the gym Tuesday morning for a 40 minute weight session. Did not start well. One of the machines I use for leg presses is for me tricky to lock off. On the third set I just couldn't do it and thought I was going to be crushed by the machine at one stage! I don't think I will be doing this one again for a while without the trainer close by.

Wednesday was a funny day and no time for the gym. Fear not that did not mean no exercise. I went for a 45 minute walk and while not as strenuous as the treadmill I did work up a light sweat. The highlight of the day for me - running into a work colleague I hadn't seen for a while and he immediately commented that I had lost weight. So that means a reward of a new Pandora bead.

Back in the gym this afternoon and the word of the day for me was weary. Again one of the new machines and only travelled 2.66kms in a 30 minutes. The good news is I know it will get better.

Session with Tamera tomorrow and then I'm on holidays for two weeks. Yeah.

Days 60 and 61

Yesterday was a lunchtime session with Tamera and I think I am in love with that girl! She challenges me in ways I couldn't imagine a month ago and is all the time pushing me to achieve more. Just what I need. Yesterday she thought she would let me know what I would be attempting in a couple of weeks. Wall push ups were introduced last week but apparently in a couple of weeks I will be doing them on a bench. It looked really hard but she assures me I will be able to them. Watch this space.

This morning 45 minutes on the treadmill for 4.28kms. Really surprised me as I have done something to my right heal and was worried about how I would go. The pain only lasted 15 minutes though. Again a sign of the new me. Previously I wouldn't have hit the gym at all but this morning I had decided if the treadmill hurt too much I would just do the dreaded bike instead. Maybe it was my hatred of the bike that got me through the session.

It's photo day, so here's me at the beginning

and today.

Things haven't changed up to much in the last couple of weeks but every part of me does feel firmer. It's the body fat going down that is making the difference.

Days 56 to 59

Monday night into the gym after work and 2.80kms in 30 minutes.

Tuesday was my fortnightly weigh in and I had gained 200 grams. My body is behaving weirdly but I refuse to stress about it. Did 40 minutes weights before work. I am back to being able to lift the weights I was doing two years ago so that's good.

Yesterday afternoon 45 minutes on the treadmill for 4.80kms. I have noticed that the treadmill I used seems slower so decided to use another one today.

Into the gym this afternoon and it was one of those inexplicable days when nothing worked for me. I did use another treadmill today and it did seem to be faster. Who knows. I only lasted 30 minutes and the sweat was pouring out of me. 2.80kms travelled.

Tomorrow a session with Tamera. I wonder what she has in store for me.
