James

My friend James passed away at 5:01 am this morning. James was only 40. A heartbreaking day spent with Elaine and the rest of the family.

James was a great man who truly inspired all he knew with his courage and dignity whilst living with multiple brain tumours. James and Elaine were married a little over a year ago. It was one of the happiest weddings I have ever attended. James and I danced at the wedding and he had me promise that I would look after Elaine. He reminded me of my promise several times.

Today as I said my goodbyes to him I told him I hadn't forgotten and Elaine would always be looked after.

I'll miss you James. Rest peacefully.

Cleo

I love animals but didn't have one in my life for over 20 years. Just over 6 years ago a pet shop opened in Summerhill and I fell in love with a Blue Russian kitten. unfortunately he was a boy. I debated getting him for several days and when I finally made up my mind I could live with a boy cat I went to buy him and he was literally just being sold.

The pet shop owner told me he had a tiny kitten I could see the next day who was a girl. I was back at 10.oo am the next day and instantly fell in love. Cleo aka Cleo cat or the ewok was love at first sight. Although I now have another cat and a dog whom I both love dearly this not so little girl is still my favourite. She has never given me anything but joy.

Stashbusting

Late again this week. James continues to defy the Doctors dire predictions and is hanging in there. I spent the night at the hospital on Tuesday and it has taken most of the week to feel normal again.

This morning I woke up with a cold and no voice. Hope it doesn't last long as I won't be able to visit. My voice could possibly be gone for a month going on past episodes.

Stashbusting

A very late post this week. My friend James had bad news on Wednesday and lots of time has been spent at the hospital. What should be a sad time hasn't been as there is so much love for James and Elaine.Lots more memories are being made. James strength is indescribable and I feel honoured to call him my friend.

So to the stash report. It's not good - surprise surprise but no room for guilt this week. When I'm sad I shop so the coming week will show lot of acquisitions.

Auunt Bec and the stash

Lisa has noticed a trend with my recent posts. They all seem to feature the colour pink. Sorry Lisa but so does this one. I finished piecing Aunt Bec on the weekend. She's now off to be machine basted. I'm going to hand quilt her in perle thread so it may be a while before she is completely finished.



The sewing on the weekend has been good for the stash. The first week where I have used more than I bought. Can't say it will last though as I just saw Charlestown 5.

New Book

I own a lot of books. I need more like I need a hole in the head. However when I saw this one here out came the credit card. Picked it up from the post office today and it's wonderful.
