Days 114 to 118 and a new project

Good news is my toe is not broken or crushed. Just hurts like hell. I had considered briefly not exercising while I was injured but what's a little bit of pain - right.

Wednesday, Thursday and Friday consisted of 15 minutes of sit ups morning and night. Not my favourite thing to do but it kept me moving.

Saturday morning I put shoes on for the first time and of course they were gym shoes! 30 minutes on the treadmill on a program down and I managed 2.85kms. I would be lying if I said it didn't hurt but no pain no gain.

This morning 40 minutes of weights. Interestingly my toe hurts more today - go figure.

While I was feeling sorry for myself I did indulge in a little bit of net surfing and this arrived in the mail.

It's a new pattern by Corliss of Threadbare. Inspiration came from an English Basket Quilt which I first saw here. Just lovely. Oh BTW did I tell you I have also started a much more faithful reproduction in my classes with Karen Cunningham. I do think I am mad.

Basket and weight

While not doing much sewing I do have another basket block finished. They are cute but there are such a lot of them.



Managed to loose 100 grams this week. Month of May I have decided is the month of getting back into the gym routine. Expect progress down.

Len and a New project

Laurie's fishing mate Len passed away last Thursday morning. This morning was the funeral. Len was a very modest man and he would have been so proud to have seen the church full. The service reflected his life - lots of music, friends and reminiscing.

Len's death was our sixth in less than six months. I do hope our luck is about to change.

This afternoon I have started cutting fabrics for a new quilt. This is going to be a labour of love and will take many years. I first saw a picture on a blog during quilt market but had no idea whose pattern it was. I saw it here last week and promptly ordered the book. You can only see a small portion of the quilt - there are 291 baskets in all.



Having failed with Dear Jane, Nearly Insane and a four inch sampler I wonder how I will go. I'm going to use my reproduction pinks and browns and just enjoy the process.
